The Temple of Sun god at Arasavalli in the district is teeming with piligrims who are pouring in for the auspicious 'ratha saptami' on Monday.

Thousands of devotees from the district as also from the neighbouring ones were thronging the temple since Sunday afternoon to witnesses the 'ksheerabhishekam' of the presiding deity scheduled to commence late in the night. The ritual would continue till the early hours of Monday.

The authorities had already sold 1,000 darshan tickets of Rs. 216 each. Elaborate security arrangements, including barricading of the road leading to the temple and erection of tents to provide shade to the piligrims, were made. The authorities were also arranging for sale of 55,000 laddus and 75 quintals of lemon rice.
